Sunset at Galveston

I clicked this snap (with my Nikon N65 SLR camera) on the Galveston beach, TX where the sun sets behind our back if we are facing the ocean.
I like this picture as it's very lively and the brightness of the sun's reflection is as bright as it's actual brightness. Whenever I see this picture I can feel the brightness of the sun as I did then.

Sunset Photography

It is one of the best nature photography and one my favorites. We usually think of sunsets in conjunction with beaches and islands. Why? Does humidity and water have something to do with sunsets? The answer is yes...and no. Large masses of water and a hot sun do combine to produce dramatic clouds. It is also like a contrast of cool and warm colors of nature.
I personally like sunsets at beaches, lakes and islands as they give us an unobstructed view of the setting sun on the horizon. If there’s a small yatch somewhere near the setting sun…

"A sunset is one of those moments in life that is often overlooked. Despite their regularity, each and every sunset is unique and anything but common. Perhaps that is what spurs us to grab our cameras and start shooting like today's sunset is the first one we have ever seen. In a way, it is." -Excerpt from an article in http://www.nyip.com/

Photographs on web and emails

Whenever I see good photographs on web or when I receive emails with photos attached or included, most of the time I wonder if they are real photos or photos modified using a photo editor software like PhotoShop. How can one find that out?
Such edited photos could be categorized as a piece of art but not a photography.
For e.g. Check this sunset pic that I clicked when I visited Key West, Florida.

Photography

I have always liked to take photographs ever since I was a boy but never realized until recent years that it has become one of my hobbies. Well, truly 5 years back, I never took as much snaps as I take now. I am learning new things with every picture I click and am still learning.

I started with a canon "point and shoot" but now I own a Nikon N65 camera with 28-80mm zoom lens. Additionally, I also own a 70-300mm lens as well.

I like Nature photography more than anything because I believe nature has all the different kinds of shapes, colors, shades, lights etc. that one can capture in the camera at different times in the day from different angles. "And everytime you will see a unique picture of nature."

Recently, I visited http://www.nikhilk.net and was impressed with the photographs that Nikhil has clicked while travelling different places around the world. I was also impressed with many other websites like http://www.nationalgeographic.com/photography/, http://www.photographysites.com/.

All these have inspired me to start up my own website and share the photographs, that I have taken in past years, with the world.
